After our AMP concert this afternoon we got to lead the winds class.  The kids played music for us from their concert last weekend.  We really enjoyed coaching them and they loved it when we played along with them.

Here’s some pictures from this afternoon’s concert at AMP.

Atlanta Music Project

Coreopsis will be working with the students of the AMP tomorrow afternoon.  We will play a concert and talk about the music then teach some young musicians more about their instruments.  AMP is a wonderful opportunity for children in Atlanta and we are really looking forward to being a part of it.  Please click “Atlanta Music Project” above to learn more about AMP, it’s mission, and programs.

We played a concert this morning at Osceola Elementary in St Augustine, they even announced our concert on their sign!  We are having a really great time playing for so many eager students.  After playing this morning we drove to Atlanta to work with the Atlanta Music Project students tomorrow afternoon.

March Children’s Concert Tour

Coreopsis is currently in St. Augustine performing educational outreach concerts at several area elementary schools sponsored by the EMMA Guild.  Our program includes the first movement of Ibert’s Trois Pieces Breves, selections from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, Denes Agay’s Five Easy Dances as well as plenty of time for interaction with the students.  We are headed to Atlanta tomorrow afternoon to continue our tour with a performance and masterclasses with the students of the Atlanta Music Project.

We are having a great time playing this music and are especially enjoying the enthusiasm and questions from the students.  Special thanks to Gordon and Janet Young and Jessica Sherer for hosting us!
